Whitworth Aggregates Ltd have awarded AT Contracting & Plant Hire the contract to construct a new access road to serve Whitworth Quarry. We’ve worked in partnership with the client and environmental consultants to achieve a successful planning application which will result in a new 2.2 km access route diverting heavy site traffic away from a nearby village directly onto a main access route. This will include the installation of over 4 km of surface water drainage and catch-pit systems along with the construction of a high load bearing bridge. Earthwork movements are projected to be over 2 million m3.

The works are programmed to commence mid 2017.
